How Cookie Dough Bakes His Cookies

It's a bright and sunny winter day in Keep Central. The snow and ice fills all of the gaps in the brick roads. Cookie Dough is in a heavy jacket, sitting on a stool and waving to passerbys. Here, he sells his odd cookies alongside some coffee.

Cookie Dough almost fell asleep when two gachagons approached his cookie stand. The taller of the two was adorned in cyan bows, and her neck easily towered over the stand's wooden sign. Gachapon balls eagerly swished around in the pouch that made up the back half of her body. She had an arm wrapped around the other gachagon, who had mostly orange striped fur and long ears pointing straight up. The other gachagon happily wagged her little tail, which was the colors of the rainbow and topped with little spikes.

"Oh hey guys!" Cookie Dough immediately recognized the two gachagons before him. "You're Silly, right?" He turned his head to the gachagon with the longer neck, who nodded in response to his question. "And you're Creamsicle." Cookie Dough turned his head to the other gachagon. Creamsicle also nodded and grinned.

"So," Silly lowered her head to be at eye level with Cookie Dough. "We'd like to get a dozen cookies inspired by cats. But here's the catch: we want to see how you make them!"

Cookie Dough paused for a moment.

"Erm, I don't really let others see my process," Cookie Dough stammered. "It just kinda makes me uncomforta--"

Creamsicle raised up a giant chest from God knows where, then opened it to reveal a countless quantity of crayons.

"Hope I don't sound like a salesman," Creamsicle placed the chest on Cookie Dough's stand. "But I can pay ya plenty!"

Once again, Cookie Dough paused. He then sighed, and stated, "Fine. Follow me over here." He gestured for the group to follow him behind his stand.

Creamsicle lovingly nuzzled Silly as the two gachagons followed Cookie Dough. Silly blushed in response. The scribble fished through the deep pockets of his coat, and took out a small canvas painted entirely black with sigils on it. He placed it on the icy grass beneath him and traced over the sigils with his finger.

"Erm," Silly appeared concerned for the Cookie Dough's sanity. "Is that a ritual board?"

"Yeppers!" Cookie Dough excitedly nodded. "My cookies have strong ties to the occult!"

Creamsicle's ears were folded back, and she tucked herself into Silly's fur and embrace. She only seldom looked at the ritual occuring. Suddenly, the sigils on the canvas lit ablaze with a sinister blue fire. Silly instinctively jerked her head back.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Silly panicked. Cookie Dough looked up from his board, looking a bit different. His eyes, which normally just look like blue gumballs, now took on a humanoid look, with an almond-shaped white sclera.

"Magic." Cookie Dough calmly responded. He snagged a glob of dough and rolled it in the sigil flames. This resulted in a cloud to form around the dough, which then formed into spirits which flew outwards. The sound of cats meowing echoed in the dome of spirits that enveloped Cookid Dough, Silly, and Creamsicle. Silly kept a close eye on the odd cookie, and Creamsicle hugged the taller gachagon tightly. After a few minutes, the meowing noises quieted down, and the spirits dissipated. The sigils on Cookie Dough's canvas were also gone. In their place was a perfectly-cooked cookie with little triangles on the top resembling cats.

"Oh!" Cookie Dough saw Creamsicle's panicking. "I'm sorry guys! I hope I didn't scare you guys too much."

Creamsicle stared at the scribblie, who was now holding the cursed cookie.

"I mean," she stammered. "Dude, that was super overkill! I know scribblies use wacky magic a lot... I hope I'm not sounding mean."

"Nah, you're fine," Cookie Dough looked a bit embarrassed. "Just wanted to mess with you guys a bit. Do you wanna see how I really make cookies?" As Cookie Dough said this, another creature bolted through the ice and bumped into him. The creature was a bitling with leaves adorning its head and neck, as well as cauliflowers in the back half of his body, which was a glass container. It barked happily upon seeing Cookie Dough.

"Oh, perfect timing," Cookie Dough sighed. "I'll just make a cookie for this gremlin real fast."

He took out another doughy blob from behind his cookie stand, rolled it into the shape of a cauliflower, and shoved it into a furnace. The furnace basically exploded with heat, cooking the treat in seconds. He then grabbed the frozen leaves on the ground and stuck them into the cookie treat. The bitling jumped around in joy as Cookie Dough handed it the cookie, which looked like a cauliflower, and devoured it without hesitation.

"Yeah, I don't really use the occult for my cookies," Cookie Dough started to make more cookies, this time in the shape of the cat cookie he made via ritual. "Well, most of them. The one I gave to that guy causing a ruckus in the Keep had demons in it, I think. But it's mostly just having an unnaturally good furnace. Or at least one powered by scribble magic, heh."

"Oh?" Silly tilted her head. "That's pretty much it?" Cookie Dough nodded, and Silly responded, "Makes sense."

After a couple more minutes, Cookie Dough finished baking twelve more cat cookies, and laid them out on the table of his stand.

"Y'all can have these on the house," Cookie Dough grinned. "I hope you enjoy them! Prolly a bit of compensation for the whole ritual thing too!"

Creamsicle and Silly snagged the cookies, both saying thank you to the scribblie, and walked off into another Keep Central store. Cookie Dough still had the cursed one in his hands.

"Huh," he wondered. "What does this one even taste like?"

He took a bite out of the cookie, and immediately spat it out.

"Oh," he sighed. "Rusty nails and cat hair. I see why I baked that demon cookie for that one guy!" He placed the cookie on the ground and smashed it into pieces, hoping that any spirits that may or may not be trapped inside rest in peace. He finished obliterating the cookie just in time for his next (and certainly not his last) customer to show up and request another one of his odd cookies.
